Under the Influence of the separating Saturn Aquarius square Uranus Taurus

Under the Influence of the separating Saturn Aquarius square Uranus Taurus
All of 2022 to January 24, 2023

Saturn is our solar system’s disciplinarian; Saturn provides the lessons that help us mature and hopefully become functioning adults.

Saturn spends 2.5 years in each sign. Saturn’s rulers are Capricorn and co-ruler Aquarius. Saturn strengthens hierarchies, societal rules, and norms, and increases and empowers authoritarian governments.

Saturn entered Aquarius on December 17, 2020. When Saturn is transiting in Aquarius, we are challenged to think for ourselves, value humanity, not hierarchies, and create new progressive and enlightened structures to help humanity.

Aquarius is the rebel of the zodiac. Aquarius is progressive, freedom-seeking, and innovative. Aquarians value their intellect and rely on logic and reasoning to understand humanity and social constructs. Aquarius wants to remove societal constraints from educational, religious, and governmental institutions. Aquarius excels at reforming outdated systems and “reinventing” cultural norms. A fixed air sign Aquarius is seen as friendly but emotionally detached and compartmentalized, often relentlessly stubborn.

Aquarius rejects old, stagnant belief systems, and structures while encouraging social reforms. Aquarius is known for embracing new technology. While Saturn is in Aquarius there are innovations in technology, digital formats, robotics, automation, physics, medicine, and space travel. Society is more willing to embrace new approaches to how we work, and how we manage economic structures.

We also experience the “out of phase” expression of Aquarius displayed in the public consciousness as individuals and organizations respond to Saturn Aquarius with a stubborn or rigid myopic point of view, while others will express a superficial “shock value” rebelliousness or gain attention with extreme behavior or outlandish conspiracy theories.

While Saturn transits through Aquarius we have an opportunity to make the world a better place by utilizing Aquarian values and principles of maintaining personal freedoms, communicating ideas and knowledge, collaborating with organizations, and acknowledging and honoring our shared humanity.

Uranus in Taurus

Freedom-seeking and innovative Uranus has been transiting in pragmatic and earthy Taurus since March 6, 2019, and won’t leave until April 26, 2026. Unconventional Uranus is in its “fall” in Taurus. Taurus is uncomfortable with the disruptive and radical force of Uranus. Taurus clings to the status quo, security, and stability and has difficulty adjusting to Uranus’ need for progress and change. The last cycle of Uranus in Taurus started in 1942 and saw the rise of fascism and the horrors of World War 2.

During 2021 Saturn and Uranus completed three exact squares. The tension between restrictive and authoritarian Saturn and anti-establishment and unconventional Uranus has been challenging. 2021-2023, transiting Saturn/Uranus square had its last exact aspect on December 24, 2021. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we experienced worldwide government imposed locked downs restricting personal freedoms, supply chain disruptions, social unrest, and political violence. During this period there has been a rise of far-right wing dictatorships, increase income inequality, and chaotic and unsettling climate events.

The almost Saturn Square Uranus of 2022

Currently transiting Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus has been almost exactly square but not quite. They have been dancing close, apart by only 37’. The almost square of Saturn/Uranus will cause tension until January 24, 2023, when the planets will finally start to separate.
